YOUR 30-MINUTE PRE-ROUND WARM-UP ROAD MAP
Are you warming up before your round, or are you just hitting balls? A good pre-round warm-up is not about fixing your swing. It’s about preparing your body, finding your rhythm, and building confidence before you step onto the first tee.
Here is a simple 30-minute roadmap:
Before course arrival
Minutes 30–25: Get Your Body Ready
- Start with movement, not golf balls
- Shoulder and hip rotations
- A few slow practice swings
- Loosen up your golf muscles
- Your goal is to feel athletic and ready to move
Minutes 25–10: Range Work (15 Minutes)
- Start with your wedges and work your way up: Short wedges → irons → woods
- Focus on solid contact and tempo
- Hit your “stock” shots, not your hero shots
- Save your last few balls for the club you’ll likely hit on the first tee.
Minutes 10–5: Short Game
- Spend five minutes around the green: A few chips with different landing spots
- Focus on contact and speed control
- Remember: your short game is where you save your score
Minutes 5–0: Putting
- Finish on the putting green: Roll a few long putts to learn speed
- Finish with short putts to build confidence
Walk to the first tee feeling prepared—not rushed. The goal of your warm-up is not to find a perfect swing. The goal is to create a confident, repeatable swing you can take to the course.
See you on the lesson tee!
