Hello from the Golf Shop!
October is here, and the season is approaching fast. Summer maintenance is scheduled to be completed shortly, with a tentative opening date for both courses on Monday, October 12.
The Sabal bunker renovation project finished well ahead of schedule, which allowed us to close the Royal Course one final time for additional summer maintenance before the season begins. I would like to recognize and thank our entire Golf Course Maintenance team for all their hard work throughout the summer. Led by our Director of Agronomy, Greg Kriesch, Sabal Course Superintendent Jon Vinsand, and Royal Course Superintendent Chris Ruis, the team works through some of the most challenging conditions of the year to prepare and maintain two outstanding golf courses for our members. Summer is their busiest time of the year, and the dedication and effort they put in day after day is truly appreciated.
Registration is currently open for our Men’s and Ladies’ Golf Leagues. Everyone with an established handicap in our GHIN system has received an email with registration links for the MGA White, Gold, and Silver Leagues, as well as the Ladies 9- and 18-Hole Leagues. If you experience any issues getting registered, please contact the Golf Shop. Registration links will remain open through the end of October. After that, any new registrations will need to be handled directly through the Golf Shop.
A few event reminders for the upcoming months:
- Registration is still available through Golf Genius for the 11th Annual HPVA Golf Tournament on October 27th.
- Registration is also open for the 2026 Ladies’ Member Guest on November 9th.
