From The Pro Shop

Hello from the golf shop. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and spending time with friends and family. The summer rains arrived early this year, which has been very helpful following such a dry 2025.

Summer cultural practices on the Royal Golf Course have gone very well. With the course closure schedule extended this year due to the upcoming bunker project on Sabal, Royal has received a much-needed break from play. During this time, we have completed most of our normal maintenance work and have also scalped the roughs to promote smoother and more consistent playing conditions for the upcoming season.

Royal is scheduled to reopen on July 27, at which time Sabal will close. This will provide us with approximately 11 weeks to complete our cultural practices and the Sabal bunker liner project. Be on the lookout later this summer for emails highlighting the bunker liner installation process and project updates.

I have received several inquiries regarding next season’s major golf event schedule. Below is a list of the currently scheduled events:

October 27: HPVA Scramble

November 9: Ladies’ Member Guest

December 6: Club Christmas Scramble

December 11-13: Men’s Member Guest

February 7: Mixed Club Championship

March 20-21: Men’s & Ladies’ Member-Member

April 2-3: Tent Party Scramble (Party on April 3)

April 10-11: Men’s & Ladies’ Club Championship

April 18: HPCO Charity Event

Registration information for these events will be distributed closer to each event date. Sign-ups for the Labor Day Scramble, scheduled for Monday, September 7, will be available soon. In addition, registration for the Annual Heritage Palms Veterans Association Tournament, to be held on October 27, will open on September 1. Additional event details will be provided as we get closer to the season.

For now, all we need to do is avoid any hurricane threats and we’ll be in great shape—fingers crossed! We are excited for the upcoming season and look forward to seeing everyone back at Heritage Palms soon.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
