AFTER OUR FIRST ROUND ON THE 10-HOLE SQUEEZE COURSE – JUNE 7TH
This past June, I took a group of HP members on a memorable play-away to the magical destination of Cabot Citrus Farms in Brooksville, FL—a true summer highlight filled with incredible golf, unforgettable scenery, and great camaraderie.
What was once the historic World Woods property has been completely reimagined by the Cabot Collection into one of the most talked-about modern golf destinations in the country. Today, Cabot Citrus Farms features two full-length championship layouts—Karoo and Roost—along with The Squeeze and The Wedge, creating a true golf playground set across 1,200 acres of natural Florida sandhills and citrus country.
Over the course of our stay, we experienced three very different and equally memorable rounds:
The Squeeze challenged players with its creative mix of short and mid-length holes, inspired by some of the best par-4 concepts in the game. It rewarded strategy, imagination, and smart decision-making on every shot.
The Roost delivered an entirely different feel—an “Old Florida” journey framed by moss-draped oaks, rolling meadows, sandy corridors, and even a few dramatic elevation changes and blind shots. With the help of outstanding caddies, players navigated undulating greens, hidden landing areas, and natural movement throughout the routing.
The Karoo provided the boldest test of the trip—wide sandy corridors, dramatic green complexes, and endless strategic options off the tee. With firm conditions and creative design, it asked players to think differently on nearly every hole.
Across all three courses, the caddies played a huge role in the experience—helping us navigate elevation changes, blind shots, and the unique ground features that make Cabot so special. More than anything, the trip was defined by connection—between players and the love of the game.
I hosted and curated this Cabot stay-and-play experience, and will continue to foster a culture of destination golf travel experiences. I can’t wait to tee up the next adventure—stay tuned for what’s coming next!
