Junior Summer Tennis Camp

Summer at Heritage Palms means one thing—Junior Summer Tennis Camp! This year we hosted camp for eight exciting weeks, with four weeks in June and four weeks in July. Camp was held on Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and welcomed children ages 5 to 14.

Each day began with tennis instruction featuring fun drills, skill development, games, and friendly competition designed to help every camper improve while enjoying the sport. Lunch is served at 12:30 p.m. in the Clubhouse, where our kitchen staff prepare delicious, kid-friendly meals.

After lunch, campers choose from a variety of activities including swimming, pickleball, the driving range, or more tennis. With SW FL’s summer heat, the pool remains a favorite, but many campers also enjoy trying pickleball or spending extra time on the tennis courts. Most of our campers are children and grandchildren of HP members who are visiting during the summer.

Head Tennis Professional Daniel Camacho oversees the camp, with me assisting throughout the summer. Together, we organize team and individual competitions each week, with prizes awarded to campers for sportsmanship, effort, and achievement. Weekly attendance ranges from 6 to 15 campers, creating a fun environment where every child receives plenty of personal attention.

As this reaches you, another successful summer camp season has come to a close. We look forward to seeing some of our young players return this fall when our After-School Junior Tennis Program begins this month. Classes will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

As the year comes to a close, we are excited to once again offer our Holiday Tennis Camp during the winter break. Campers will enjoy many of the same activities that make our Summer Camp so popular, including tennis instruction, games, swimming, pickleball, and other fun recreational activities. Whether your child is returning or joining us for the first time, Holiday Camp is a wonderful way to stay active, improve their game, and enjoy time with friends while school is out.
