Bob Kelly, Director of Golf at Heritage Palms

Hello from the Golf Shop!

Fall is here, and another great season of golf at Heritage Palms is in full swing as we enter our 29th year as a Club. Our Men’s and Ladies’ golf leagues will kick off this month, featuring a great schedule of fun and diverse events throughout the season. If you are new to the Club, please stop by the Golf Shop. We can help get you registered in our GHIN Handicap System and signed up for a league. We also strongly encourage all new members to check out the Golf Tutorials on the HP website under the Golf tab. These presentations cover the Chelsea Tee Time System, GHIN Handicap System, Golf Course Etiquette and Pace of Play, and the Golf Genius Tournament System. We are always happy to help with any golf-related questions or needs, so please stop by and see us.

On Thanksgiving Day, we’ll once again offer an open-play shotgun on both courses at 7:45 a.m. The Golf Shop and golf courses will close following the shotgun. You can simply submit a regular Chelsea request to play that morning. Registration for the Club Christmas Scramble on Sunday, December 6, will be coming out shortly, so look for a registration email from Golf Genius.

The Chelsea Tee Time System remains in off-peak season mode through December 31. During this period, points are assigned on the day of play, no points are assigned at placement, and members do not receive points for bringing guests. The system will return to in-season mode beginning January 1, 2027.

We have another exciting schedule of major golf events planned for the 2026–27 season. Please mark your calendars for the following:

• Monday, November 9 – Ladies’ Member Guest

• Sunday, December 6 – Club Christmas Scramble

• Friday–Sunday, December 11 to 13 – Men’s Member Guest

• Sunday, February 7 – Mixed Club Championship

• Saturday–Sunday, March 20 & 21 – Member/Member

• Friday–Saturday, April 2 & 3 – Tent Party Scramble, with the party on Saturday, April 3

• Saturday–Sunday, April 10 & 11 – Club Championship

• Sunday, April 18 – HPCO Charity Event

Both courses are in great shape, and it’s our responsibility to help keep them that way. With the volume of play we experience at HP, we also ask everyone to keep pace of play in mind throughout their round. Every group should do its best to maintain a good pace and be respectful of the other groups on the course. Being ready to play when it’s your turn, keeping up with the group ahead, and being aware of your position on the course, all help ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone. If we all do our part each day to take care of the courses and be considerate of our fellow members, we can continue to enjoy the excellent playing conditions and golf experience we have at HP.

We look forward to seeing you around the Club and hope you have a great golf season!
