Guess who’s coming to HP? The Producing Artistic Director of the Florida Repertory Theatre, Greg Longenhagen. He’s coming at the invitation of the HP University Club to share his “behind the scenes” knowledge of theatre – kind of a glimpse into how productions are selected, how actors are hired, how sets are constructed, and how rehearsals are developed from first reading until opening night. So, sign up for his presentation on the HP calendar! It will be held Thursday, January 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Activity Center. The good news: it’s free, and you might even win some theatre tickets!
Speaking of the HP University Club, please see their other program offerings for January and February on page 67.

A friend of mine, Kathy Hazard, recently told me during a round of golf that her favorite BTP article was one I ran two+ years ago. I thought I would republish it for your reading pleasure. I promise it will make you smile! See Smile Though Your Heart Is Aching…on page 34.

The Gateway Women’s Club hosted a Shoe Drive this fall. Many of you responded to their appeal and dropped gently used shoes off at the Activity Center to help make a difference for someone in need. You donated a total of 180 pair of shoes, and the Women’s Club received an amazing total of 3,475 pair! They thank you for your support!

Lastly, this is the time of year your Board of Directors is actively seeking members to serve on our Voluntary Advisory Committees. My We Want You article on page 6 provides some details for those interested in helping our community become even better!
