As the season came to a close, many of our golfers headed north for cooler temperatures. But before they left, they enjoyed a flurry of activities.
The March 12 luncheon with a St. Patrick’s Day theme saw plenty of green on our members and in the decorations. A 50/50 raffle made several people happy. The charity chosen for this year was the Ray V. Pottorf Elementary School. A check of $9,000 was presented to Brandy Macchia, School Principal at the luncheon. Vice Principal Katie Halbarson also attended.
The end of the year celebration of the League’s 21st Birthday was held on March 31. Upon entering the Palm Dining Room, members enjoyed a sparkling grape drink. A photo arch provided many opportunities for memorable photos. A photo book was available for browsing, and a slide show provided a summary of the year’s activities. Chip-in winners were announced as well as LNHGA champions. Ending the event was a red velvet birthday cake decorated with flowers. Committee members were: Pat Vegh, Sue McNeilly, Paula Kraft, Peg Sheeran, Barbara Gregg, Melody Smothers, and Kay Riordan.

Our final luncheon was held April 9. The theme “Everything’s Coming up Daisies” gave everyone the feeling that spring had arrived.
