Our season is in full-swing, with plans in place for a successful 2025 season. Watch for the sign-up for our traditional Challenge Classic tournament. Our theme is “The Wonderland Open,” which takes inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s whimsical tales of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Barbara Caporaso and Betti Bocchino and their committee have lots of fun things in store for us. Although this is an opportunity to pick your own team, you can also sign up individually and be placed on a team. Costumes always add to the fun, but they are optional. A Save the Date flyer was sent January 29; registration begins February 5. A reminder email will be sent February 12. The Wonderland Open is February 19.
When Kathy Labrie agreed to chair the January Fun Event, held Monday, January 27, she was delighted to find she already had a committee of members ready to make this a memorable gathering. They hit a home run. The theme was It’s a Jungle in Here. Participants were given a ticket to go on a safari: Fishing for Tigerfish, Pin the Animal in the Jungle, Catch a Giraffe, and Feed the Hungry Lion. We ate Croc Eyes, Meerkat Munchies, Cheeta Teeth, Chimp Toes, and Elephant Ears. We jived to the beat of the DJ, as we took photos showcasing the jungle décor. Best of all, the committee made many new friends, bonded by the creation of a truly terrific event.

Our closing Cocktail Party, Awards Ceremony and Elections is April 7. We’ll be looking for volunteers to fill the positions of Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, and Assistant Tournament Director. If interested in the VP position, it’s helpful if you have experience on our event committees.
