And We Are Off!

L-R: LOU BOTTITTA, MARY BARTER, CHAD DYER, DAVID GINTER, AND RON ASSISE.

The long awaited Pickleball Expansion Project was approved by the city and Ritzman, the contractors for the project, wasted no time getting started, even working on Christmas Eve.

The project started with the clearing of vegetation at the site of the new tennis court. Once this area is cleared, the plan is to work on the new tennis court and four pickleball courts simultaneously. The expected date of completion being five to six months.

While the timing of the construction is not ideal, everyone is working together to limit the inconvenience. Chad Dyer, HP’s new Tennis/Pickleball/Bocce Director, is working to reschedule the Tennis League matches for the second time so that League Play may continue. The Pickleball community will be using a 10-minute timing schedule to help with the crowds during daily drop in at the two courts we have to help with pace of play.

We want to thank the Pickleball Expansion Over-Sight Group including Mary Barter; Lou Bottitta; David Ginter; and Ron Assise, Board Vice President and Liaison; and Chad Dyer. They will be monitoring the progress of the project and make certain that the end result matches up with the initial plan.

As always, we’ll see you on the new courts soon!
