A Mahjong Tournament was held Saturday August 3 in the Palms Dining Room. It was the first held since 2019. Covid hit us in 2020, and it had fallen by the wayside. However, everyone was very, very excited to have it back at HP! We had had three a year previously – Welcome Back (January), New Card (April), and Summer.
The ladies contributed many wonderful dishes for our breakfast and desserts. After two rounds in the morning, we were served lunch by the Club – it was delicious! After lunch we played another two rounds. Jan Donaldson was a first-time score keeper and did a great job.
We had cash prizes for both the morning and afternoon winners. And two additional specialty prizes in both sessions.
- Morning winners – 1st Barb Barlow, 2nd Gloria Schaeffer, 3rd Amy Wulf.
- Afternoon winners – 1st Jane Jones, 2nd (3-way tie) Melody Smothers, Tina Wright, and Joanne Jungclaus.
